Location

Staying at AWAY Treehouse will (as the name suggests) allow you to get far AWAY from the busier part of the island and truly unplug and drift AWAY.

The treehouse is located on the eastern end of Waiheke island. Allow 30-45 minutes drive form the ferry.

AWAY Treehouse has a full kitchen and you are recommended to bring the supplies you will need during your stay.
Local grocery stores you pass on your way are: Island grocer, RAW at Waiheke, Countdown, Four square Onetangi/Oneroa

Please note, public transport does not pass AWAY treehouse and the most comfortable way to get here is by car.
The most cost efficient option is to arrive with your own car/rental car rather then taxi.

Address is 303 Cowes Bay road, 1971 Orapui, Waiheke Island
You can find AWAY treehouse on google maps.

From Downtown Auckland you can jump on Island direct or Fullers passenger ferry. This ferry takes you to Matiatia ferry terminal.

From Half moon bay you can catch Sealinks vehicle ferry (you can also travel without a vehicle on this ferry). You will arrive to Kennedy point, Waiheke island.

Once you reach Waiheke island you can pick up your rental car at the ferry terminal.
There are plenty of rental car companies on the island, among those are Waiheke Car rental and Go rentals.

There is a discrete AWAY sign at the driveway. Please drive in and park. Thank you for making sure 2 cars can park side by side.
Follow the signs down the pathway.
Please note. The pathway is gravel and downhill, you need a certain level of fitness to walk up and down. It is recommended to bring easy carry bags.

The roads are windy and the last kilometres are gravel road. Please drive safe!

Please respect this since your host often has same day turnarounds and want to make the space ready for your special stay.

Early check may be available if arranged for an extra cost.

There is parking on site.

Please be aware there is a sloping gravel pathway from the parking lot to the treehouse. backpacks or other carry bags are recommended rather then bulky suitcases.

We encourage our guests to really unplug and connect to one another at Away as Wi-Fi is unavailable in the Treehouse.
Reception might be limited in the forest but works well by the parking lot.
If needed, please let us know. WIFI is available around the Forest bath area.
